When choosing house windows, one is faced with a large variety to choose from.
Firstly, there are the awning windows that are a lot like casement windows but only wider and taller. Such windows are mostly either over or beneath doors and windows. These house windows allow light to enter the house and are mostly attached to double hung windows. These also aid in ventilation.
Then there are the bay windows which are generally three windows that are joined together in order to present a lot of viewing space. The window at the centre remains fixed on its frame while the others are either of the double hung or the casement variety. One may even opt for bow windows which are not too different from the two varieties mentioned earlier. But these are a combination of at least four casement windows that are joined to form a curve. These are available vented and in combination varieties.
Of course there are the casement windows with single sash levers. These happened to be the most popular variety of house windows before sashes were introduced. These are best suited for homes in western areas because these allow a great amount of light to enter the house. The double hung house windows, on the other hand, have an older design and can be seen in almost all old homes situated on the Easter coast in the United States of America. These add to the look of the house, thanks to their wooden accents. These generally come in very wide sizes. Therefore, it is wise to have one double hung house window instead of two smaller casement windows. Therefore, double hung windows generally help one save up.
In case one wants to try out a few more varieties, on always has the option of looking through other options like fixed frame, Garden, Single hung, Skylight, and sliding windows.
Of course, this is not an exhaustive list. If one takes a little effort and looks around in the market, one will be able to find a lot of varieties that will perfectly fit one’s aesthetic and financial needs.
