Seems everywhere I read how to dispose of spent bulbs, not those that have broken glass. How concerned should I be that they were in my house several weeks before I discovered they were broken?
Answer
Sweep up the broken glass carefully while wearing a particle mask and gloves and bag it up so as not to allow the pieces to spread.
- Then you can follow the EPA guidelines listed on their website here.
- Also, the EPA publishes a page of detailed advice for cleaning up a broken CFL here.
Hope it Helps! Thanks for thinking about the environment and your safety!
