ABC’s of Decorating: U is for upholstered headboards

Your bed and headboard are the focal point of your bedroom.  There are no rules when it comes to choosing a headboard style–choose what you like.  For example, a wooden headboard that matches your other furniture or something unique like an old door, iron gate, quilt or tapestry that has been hung on the wall.  For a comfortable and elegant touch I like an upholstered headboard.  You can add color, pattern, texture and interest all in one piece of furniture.  Purchase one already made or make your own using these simple how-to instructions from HGTV.  You can customize your headboard with trim such as braiding, nailheads, buttons, tufting etc. for a designer look.  Check out these photos of some interesting upholstered  headboards and sleep tight.
