The 4A Super Heavy or Super Thick is the heavier 3,000 gram, while the 5A is the Ultra Plush 4,000 gram piece. There are also those which are made with less than 1,000 gram per square meters. This lower grade pieces are the cheapest kinds.

From this grading system you will see that the heavier the rug the better it is, as there is more wool. And of course more wool also means that you get a much thicker, fuller and plusher piece. Essentially the higher the grdae the more expensive it will be.
